The grade cliff
On alt arts, the gap between a 10 and a 9 is unusually wide. Surface scratches on dark holo foil are the usual culprit.
Dark surfaces show everything
Umbreon artwork is mostly black foil, so print lines, scratches and handling marks are visible under angled light. Inspect before assuming mint.
Population growth
Modern cards keep getting graded, so the population report moves. Check current numbers rather than a figure you saw last year.
Character demand
Eeveelution collectors sustain prices through slow markets, which makes Umbreon less cyclical than most modern chase cards.
